Senior Envelopes

Parents, Families, and Friends of IA Seniors,

Our first graduating class is preparing to take flight into the world of college, military, work, and other pursuits. We are so excited for the Class of 2024, and wanted to kick-off IA's Senior Blue Envelopes!

What are Senior Blue Envelopes?

This is a way to provide our students with a lifelong treasured memory.

Parents are encouraged to reach out to the important people in your student's life and have them write letters of celebration and encouragement.  Parents can reach out to relatives, friends, teachers, coaches, and more to write letters and cards. This honors their well-earned graduation and allows your students to reflect on all of the experiences they have enjoyed along the way.

What kinds of things can I write about in a senior letter?

There are many acceptable topics for senior letters. These include congratulating the senior on graduation, wishing them well in their next phase of life, reminiscing on fond memories (childhood, school, social gatherings, etc…), and so much more!

On May 10th, every senior will receive a large "Senior Blue Envelope" containing these messages and well wishes. The letters and cards will be kept confidential until they are given to the students.

We encourage you to send you to reach out to family and friends as early as possible to write letters.

Please drop off at IA's front office or mail cards/ letters to:

Instructions for Senior Blue Envelope Cards and Letters:

Keep in mind that cards and letters will be collected for almost 300 students, and we need you to adhere to these instructions:

  • All cards and letters must be dropped off at IA's front office or mailed to the school.
  • Family and friends may choose to email you, the parent, a letter, which you will print and drop off or mail to the school.  Neither the school nor the PTSO will print out these emails for you.
  • Collect only cards and letters 8 1/2" x 11" or smaller.
  • Keep cards and letters flat.
  • Do not include packages of any kind.
  • Do not send anything of value to be part of the Senior Blue Envelope, such as cash, checks, gift cards, etc.
  • If dropping off in person, bind packs of letters or cards with the student's name on top of the pack.
  • Please encourage your family, friends, coaches, religious leaders, etc. to write letters for your senior! They can be mailed into IA or sent to you via email. You must print out those emails. Neither the school nor the PTSO will print out emails.
  • Don't worry about the color of your envelope to school. We're going to open all envelopes to put into the Senior's individual blue envelope. We're not going to read the contents, because we're going to be processing thousands of items!
  • If you know of other students in your child's grade, please feel free to write a letter for them!

Can people send items other than letters or cards, such as a gift or memento?

No. You would need to coordinate directly with the senior or their family for this.

When can I begin turning in senior letters?

Now! You have from now until April 26th to turn it in.

It is your responsibility to get the physical letters and cards delivered to the school by Friday, April 26th, not the school or IA PTSO. The school and IA PTSO will not print any emails for you.

Let’s show the class of 2024 that they are indeed special to us and that we treasure their achievements!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Seniorcommunications@iaptso.org.
