Social Media - Megan Bradley

 

Meet Megan Bradley serves as the External School Media Committee Chair and works closely with the VP of Communications for the Innovation Academy PTSO. She is the proud parent of Nick, a current junior at IA. Megan holds a degree in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College and earned her teaching credentials from the University of Richmond. She taught special needs preschool before shifting her focus to community engagement and education advocacy as a dedicated school volunteer.  Wearing many hats within the PTSO, She was instrumental in last year’s success, managing a highly successful Silent Auction and bringing numerous local businesses into the PTSO community. Her passion, creativity, and leadership continue to make a meaningful impact at IA 

 

 

 

Newsletter - Raghav Vaidya

 

Meet Raghav Vaidya, our PTSO Newsletter Chair. Raghav lives in Johns Creek with his wife, Dana; their son, Rohan, a freshman at Innovation Academy; and their Bichon pup, Archie. He also has an older son who lives and works in New York. Originally from India, Raghav has called the United States home for 34 years—24 of those in Georgia. With a professional background in IT, he enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and exploring his passion for photography in his spare time. While his demanding work ahas limited pas

t volunteer opportunities, a temporary career break has given Raghav the chance to support the PTSO. He’s excited to contribute and add value wherever he can!

 

 

 

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Chair - Shavon Beal

 

 Meet Shavon Beal for her second year serving on the PTSO as the Staff Appreciation Chair. Last year, she truly enjoyed getting to know the teachers and staff more personally while gaining a deeper understanding of how the school operates. She is the parent of a sophomore at IA and has always been actively involved in every school her child has attended. What she enjoys most about volunteering is the opportunity to make new friends and the fulfillment that comes from making a meaningful difference. Professionally, she works part-time in interior design and also designs and creates jewelry, which she sells in Buckhead.

 

 

 

 

 

Webmaster - Jenny Steele

 

Jenny Steele is our Webmaster Committee Chair for the PTSO page, and works with the VP of Communication. A strong supporter of STEM education, Jenny was the Director of Technology at FAST Charter School and worked in the IA media center during the school's inaugural year.

 

The parent of a current senior, and member of last year's national championship e-sports team in Splatoon, Jenny is appreciative of the many unique opportunities IA offers its students.

Membership - Christina Penman

 

Meet Christina Penman, a dedicated community member who balances her roles as a wife and mother of three, including a senior in the Innovation Academy engineering program. She is an active volunteer at Innovation Academy and has held key leadership positions, including PTO President. Currently, she serves as the PTO Liaison for Alpharetta Christian Academy. Professionally, Christina works in sonography at Northside Hospital. Her commitment to service shines through her involvement with the Ways and Means Team, where she plays a vital role in building school spirit and supporting student events through fundraising efforts.

 

 

 

 

 

Student Advisory Council -  Supriya Jain

 

Meet Supriya Jain, our SAC (Student Advisory Council) Committee Chair. Originally from India, Supriya moved to Atlanta in 2006. After spending a decade here, her family lived in Toronto, Canada, for six years before returning to Atlanta in 2021. She is the proud mom of two boys—her older son is a rising sophomore at Innovation Academy, and her younger son is entering 7th grade. Professionally, Supriya works as a Customer Project Manager at Ericsson, where she leads telecom projects. Outside of work, she is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and finds joy in dance, music, yoga, and family time. This is Supriya’s first year volunteering at IA, and she is excited to support and foster student volunteering and engagement through the school community.

 

 

 

Teacher Grants - Natalie Shakhnovsky

 

Meet Natalie Shakhnovsky, our PTSO Teacher Grants Chair! A long-time Johns Creek resident, Natalie has lived in the community for 25 years and brings over a decade of legal experience to her role. She’s the proud parent of an Innovation Academy junior and a Georgia State University junior. Having immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager, she is fluent in Russian and deeply values education and opportunity. Natalie’s passion for supporting teachers stems from her belief in the vital role they play in shaping young minds. She has spent the past 21 years volunteering at her children's schools and is now eager to contribute her energy and dedication to the IA PTSO. A strong advocate of STEM education, Natalie believes in the transformative power of Innovation Academy’s unique approach. After seeing her son thrive both academically and creatively at IA, she’s committed to supporting the school community in any way she can.

Parent/Community Coffee - Tammy Cochran

 

Meet Tammy Cochran, our Parent/Community Coffee Chair! Tammy is excited to be joining the Innovation Academy community. With a professional background in nonprofit management, she brings a passion for connection and community-building to her role. Tammy and her husband have two daughters—Reagan, who will be attending IA this fall, and Madison, a recent Georgia Tech graduate heading to Boston to begin her career. Rounding out their family are two very spoiled dogs, Shamus and Griffin. In her free time, Tammy enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time on the lake with friends and family. She’s looking forward to helping foster meaningful connections among IA’s parents and community members this year.

 

  

 

 

Academic Support - Sharada Chandran

 

Meet Sharada Chandran, mom to a rising 9th grader and a rising 5th grader. She works in product management for a local fintech company. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching yoga, traveling, and exploring the arts. Sharada has been an active volunteer at Dolvin Elementary for the past few years and loves getting to know the school and community through her involvement

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Senior Support - Isabella Marquis

 

Isabella Marquis will be serving as our Senior Lead after completing 2 years as Student Support Chair and 2 years as VP of Student and Senior Support at Innovation Academy. She brings several years of valuable volunteering experience at schools and community organizations and she will be focused on strengthening the Senior events processes over the next term

 

 

 

 

Senior Deliverables - Mitzi Monzalvo

 

Meet Mitzi Monzalvo, a passionate community builder who finds joy in creating meaningful and memorable experiences for families. She serves on the IA PTSO as the Senior Deliverables Chair and also contributes her time as the Events Chair on the PTO Board at Wilson Creek Elementary. Mitzi and her husband own a group of collision centers and are proud parents to three amazing children. Their oldest is a senior at Innovation Academy, enrolled in the Engineering and IT Pathway, and plays academy volleyball.

 

Originally from Mexico and fluent in Spanish, Mitzi brings culture, creativity, and a strong sense of connection to everything she does. The Monzalvo family has called Johns Creek home for several years and is deeply involved in the local community. In her free time, Mitzi enjoys traveling with her family and cheering on her kids at volleyball games and swim meets. She looks forward to helping make the senior year experience special and memorable for the Class of 2025.

 

 

Senior Baby Photos - Charu Gupta Agarwal

 

Meet Charu Gupta Agarwal – Senior Baby Photos Chair. Charu Gupta Agarwal is a proud senior mom and has been actively involved as an SGC parent since last year. Based in Alpharetta, Charu is an engineer by profession but is currently a dedicated stay-at-home mom. She enjoys volunteering at school events, reading, and cooking. Charu finds being part of the PTSO both meaningful and fun, as it gives her a chance to stay connected to the school community and support her child’s high school journey.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Senior Scholarships - Julie Gaw Kruzic

 

Meet Julie Gaw Kruzic, our dedicated Senior Scholarships Chair. A proud Cincinnati native with deep family roots and a love for community service, Julie moved to Roswell in 2008 with her husband Rick and their two children, Benjamin (11th) and Lucy (9th), both now attending Innovation Academy.

 

Julie brings a rich background in school and community involvement, including three years on the SGC at Elkins Pointe Middle and currently serving as the Service Chair for Boy Scout Troop 51, where her son is preparing to begin his Eagle Project. Her daughter is a competitive Level 8 gymnast at Infinity Gymnastics and also a passionate language learner.

 

Outside of school, Julie is an active volunteer with the Georgia Native Plant Society and Old Rucker Farm, championing the importance of native plants for local ecosystems. She’s always happy to share her knowledge—especially about how native plants support butterflies, birds, and environmental science.  Now in her final year managing IA’s Senior Scholarships program, Julie is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and celebrating our incredible graduating students.

 

 

 

Senior Breakfast/Lunch/Snack - Cathy Flynn

 

Meet Cathy Flynn, proud mom to Bridget (Class of 2026), the youngest of her four daughters. Her older three daughters are all Georgia Tech graduates and now off making their way in the world. She’s also a proud grandmother of two. Now retired, she has devoted over 30 years to volunteering in schools—this year marks her 31st in PTA/PTSO service. Over the years, she has served in various roles including treasurer, teacher appreciation coordinator, class mom, and dedicated volunteer. In addition to her school involvement, she gives her time to the NFCC Food Pantry, her church, her neighborhood, and helps care for her 90-year-old father. She’s excited to support and celebrate the senior class as they prepare to launch into the next chapter of their lives.

 

 

 

World of IA - Jami Wells

 

Meet Jami Wells, who has called the Roswell/North Fulton area home for 17 years and has been a dedicated volunteer in Fulton County Schools for 15 of those years. Her service has spanned across the Centennial Cluster and now continues at Innovation Academy, where she has been part of the school community since its founding.

 

This year, she proudly supports two children at IA—one returning student and one incoming freshman—along with college students at Kennesaw State and Georgia State University. Jami is deeply involved in community service, volunteering with several local nonprofits. She enjoys traveling with her family and exploring the beauty of North Georgia. Her passion for education and meaningful service shines through in everything she does. Jami is excited to serve in the World of IA role this year, helping to foster cultural appreciation and connection within the IA community while supporting the school’s broader mission.

 

 

Phoenix Fest - Hemang Shah

 

Meet Hemang Shah – Dedicated Volunteer and Phoenix Fest Leader. Hemang is a long-time Innovation Academy parent and enthusiastic volunteer. From chaperoning field trips to coaching Science Olympiad and Future City teams, he’s always ready to support. Professionally, Hemang has spent 17 + years at EY, currently serving as a Product Owner in Finance. He also brings deep leadership experience from Scouts BSA, where he’s held multiple roles, including Troop Leader and Unit Commissioner.

 

At home, he enjoys gardening projects with his wife, woodworking, and family movie nights. With one son in college and a current IA junior, Hemang has helped lead Phoenix Fest for two years and is now looking to mentor a new co-chair for next year.
